A demo about how to create composite Paintings from conception to finish
The next in my list of single lessons I am releasing is the “Composite Painting” demonstration. This is a critical concept to understanding painting and creating beautiful paintings by utilizing images and concepts out of your head and from other references…This is a way of painting most professionals use to some degree in every painting they do. This was originally a 2 DVD set but to keep things less expensive I am releasing the first one about 2 hours of info…BUT if you want the second DVD too (another 1.5 hours for a total of about 3.5 Hrs) you can email us and let us know and we will add it for a fee of $10. Originally this was a 1 DVD demo but I can back and added more to the painting.
Tip: A composite painting is a painting where you take elements from different areas like different photographs or different setups and combine them to create one painting. This can also just be done on the fly out of your head. The trick to this that most people often miss is the lighting has to be exactly the same and the value structure and color structure have to be the same as what you originally started with and your painting. I see a lot of artwork that come back to me from my students and you can always tell when they added something because they don’t really understand the concept of composite painting which is really based on structural Unity of the whole painting.
In this lesson I give different elements in the form of different photographs and show you how to combine those in one painting and how to avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that you see so often when artists try to do this.
